Dr. Bach believed that an emotion could have an negative and a positive side. He talked about using the ‘opposing virtue’, which means that if an emotion is off balance the Remedy will enhance the positive side. When that is happening the negative side will automatically disappear. One example is the Remedy Willow. In its negative state the person will be full of self-pity and resentment. In its positive state the person will feel forgiving. The Remedy Willow will enhance the positive aspect. When that happens, automatically the negative feelings will evaporate.
